Festivals are important for everyone, it’s a way to bring the whole family all together. Every festival is beautiful either it’s Navaratri Or Eid Or Christmas or any other. I remember as I child I used to get so excited when festivals were around. We used to get school holidays to spend these auspicious days with our family, my mother used to make delicious cuisines. I am a Maharashtrian so puran poli was and is still my favourite. My dad used to bring flowers and other decorative items, my grandma used to prepare for puja and my grandpa used to give us chocolates. That’s how I remember my childhood, sweet, happy, exciting.

Now things have been changed, I don’t even remember when was the last time I was that happy whenever a festival was around. Seems like this worlds is dissolving in corporate jobs where there are no holidays for your happiness, no time to spend with your family, no delicious food. It’s tough to think what the next generation will learn? Will they ever know the importance of these festivals? Will they ever be able to feel that happiness?

I miss my family every festival. I miss how I used to celebrate, I wish there was no such corporate bars between me and my happiness. I wish the Indian culture we are so proud about can still be embraced by us.
